The Great Impersonator is Halsey’s fifth album, released on October 25, 2024. The followup to 2021’s If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, this is their first record through Columbia Records after their departure from Capitol Records was report in mid-April 2023.
On April 29, Halsey confirmed she was working on new music by posting to their Instagram story a photo of them in the studio, saying; “and I didn’t even have to ask permission.” On June 14, 2023 it was announced that Halsey had officially signed with Columbia Records. The album’s title was announced on August 27 alongside an album trailer. The album’s artwork and release date were announced on social media on September 4, with the tracklist being revealed on September 25, one month prior to the album’s release.
