Nexon officials said on Twitter: "We have noticed that the game is temporarily unable to connect. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We are currently working to quickly identify the issue and resolve it."
According to follow-up tweets, the problem appears to have been identified and is primarily related to online stress. The development team stated that it is waiting for the network to be restored, because the popularity of the game has put huge pressure on the servers. The official later announced that server maintenance had been carried out and the problem had been fixed. Although the server is back online, instability may still occur.
According to SteamDB data, there are currently nearly 160,000 players in " The First Descendant " online, and the peak number of players in the past 24 hours reached 239,000.
