Hogwarts Legacy is an action-adventure game that will delight all RPG fans, whether they are also Harry Potter fans or not. Indeed, here, it is not at all about the little wizard with the lightning-shaped scar, but rather about YOU. In this next-gen game with perfect graphics, you will be able to create your own character and be the hero, or heroine, of your own adventure.
In an exciting universe, discover a fabulous open world, go explore the corners of Hogwarts, and try to stop a goblin revolution. Whether or not you are familiar with the universe created by the novelist JK Rowling, you will inevitably be captivated by this captivating game which offers you the chance to spend hours in a thrilling magical world.
Why play Hogwarts Legacy?
Harry Potter, who has never heard of the little magician born from the imagination of JK Rowling? In books, films, plays, but also video games, the license has been declined in all sauces. Sometimes it works, sometimes less so. The 7 books have each been adapted into a video game. The first volume, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was released in 2001 for PC, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles of the time. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets followed directly in 2002, then The Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004, The Goblet of Fire in 2005, The Order of the Phoenix in 2007, The Half-Blood Prince in 2009 and, finally, The Deathly Hallows in two parts (2010 and 2011) as for the films. Each time for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles.
Each of the games followed the complete story of Harry during his various years of study at Hogwarts, in the form of a third-person action/adventure game. Fans were able to find their favorite characters in them, with the first three games being the most critically acclaimed for their playability and durability, while the following ones, on the other hand, had more difficulty.
Note that the last two (Deathly Hallows 1 and 2) are third-person shooters that are mainly about the brute force since it is about getting rid of You-Know-Who.
Suffice to say that a new video game on the theme and universe of Harry Potter was eagerly awaited by the entire community of fans and gamers. We will not mention the few mobile games that have been released in recent years, and which, although sometimes very interesting (like Harry Potter Mystery at Hogwarts ), remain anecdotal for high-flying players. Let us still note the Lego Harry Potter series , which has also been able to please fans with its loyalty to the franchise.
So here it is, straight out of the offices of Avalanche Software, and produced by Warner Bros (which holds the rights to the series): Hogwarts Legacy . As its title seems to indicate, there is no presence of Harry Potter here, this is not yet another game exploiting the little wizard, but rather a new phase of the franchise, of the “choose your own adventure” type.
What's new in the latest version of Hogwarts Legacy?
Hogwarts Legacy was officially released on February 10, 2023. Two editions are available: a standard edition and a Deluxe Edition. The latter gives access to a Dark Mage Cap, a Dark Magic Pack (Thestral mount, Cosmetic set, Battle Arena) as well as a complementary quest for players who own the PlayStation version of the game (Hogsmeade Haunted Shop quest).
What OS is Hogwarts Legacy compatible with?
If you are used to playing on PC, the game is available for Windows 10/11 in 64-bit version (a good graphics configuration is recommended) via Steam (our link) or Epic Games Store . Prefer the video game console? No problem. The game is available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Note that if you have a PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, you have the option to pre-order the game, which will be available for these consoles later in the year (probably in April for the first two and July for the Switch version).
