After the launch of "APEX Legends", it became popular all over the world with an unstoppable force. Now it has more than 50 million players, and "Fortnite", the former "big brother of battle royale", seems less eye-catching. But in fact, EPIC is actively learning from the success of "APEX Legends", just like it learned from "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" back then.
Recently, "Fortnite" launched the latest game feature-the tagging system to facilitate character communication without wheat. However, this feature was pointed out by players as being almost completely copied from "Apex Legends". The marking system in "Apex Legends" allows characters to directly tell specific item information. Moreover, this work has been specially optimized for this, allowing the characters to convey useful information in clear and easy-to-understand words. For example, if we need to ask teammates for extra ammunition, we can open the backpack and use the mouse to mark the weapon that needs ammunition.
"Fortnite" takes a simpler approach. If you tag multiple items and enemies at the same time, "Fortnite" can reasonably form it into a sentence. The reason is obvious. If you want to add voices to different characters with different skins, it will be a huge project, which is both time-consuming and financial resources for Epic. There is actually a compromise, which is to have each mark correspond to a specific sound, which will give you a vague idea of what it refers to, rather than directly telling you what it is. While this approach may not be as good as what APEX Legends designed, it's good enough for Fortnite.
